OBJECTIFICATION OF THOSE DEEMED
INTERSEX TO ENGAGE THE EMERGING
FIELD OF CRITICAL INTERSEX STUDIES.
EXPLORING CONTEXTS RANGING FROM
SPORT TO SOCIAL MEDIA AND WITH A
STRONG FOCUS ON DOCUMENTARY FILM,
STUDENTS WILL INTERROGATE
COLONIALISM AND RACISM AS
INSEPARABLE FROM GENDER BINARIES,
ANALYZING HISTORIES OF INTERSEX
ACTIVISM RESHAPING OUR GENDERED
FUTURES ON A GLOBAL SCALE.
Catalog Description:
Seminar on topics relevant to the field of gender, women, feminist, sexuality and nation in contemporary and/or historical contexts. Students have the opportunity to engage with theories and methodologies that shape the field. Recommended: either GWSS 200, GWSS 302, or previous coursework in feminist studies. Offered: AWSpS.
