GWSS Adjunct Professor & Professor of English, Alys Weinbaum's book, he Afterlife of Reproductive Slavery:  Biocapitalism and Black Feminism's Philosophy of History,  is winner of The National Women’s Studies Association’s Sarah A. Whaley Book Prize and received Honorable Mention for the Gloria E. Anzaldúa Prize.
