In an article in The Daily titled, "The Paradox of 'Mary Sue:' A Look at the Origin, Evolution, and Discourse of the Archetype," which reviews the proliferation of the Mary Sue stereotype in fiction, GWSS Professor Regina Yung Lee, who teaches the popular course "Introduction to Gender and Fandom," discusses the underlying misogyny of this term.
