Dr. Michelle Morado Successfully Defends Dissertation

The Department of Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies proudly congratulates Dr. Michelle Morado on the successful defense of her dissertation, "Creative Kin-Making Practices Among Queer Youth and Womxn of Color, 1950-2020." Dr. Shirley Yee, Dr. Michelle Habell-Pallan, Dr. Ileana Rodriguez-Silva, and Dr. Habiba Ibrahim served on her committee and celebrated her achievement. Dr. Amanda Swarr, Associate Professor in the department, expressed her excitement, stating, "Your thoughtful dissertation work reflects the careful relationships cultivated through your research. I'm excited to witness the pedagogical interventions you'll bring to Seattle Central." In the fall, Dr. Morado will begin a tenure-track position in the History Department at Seattle Central College, marking a significant milestone in her career.
