Submitted by Whitney Miller on

We're delighted to share the recent accomplishments of Dr. Sara Diaz, a 2012 Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies. Currently serving as the Associate Professor and Department Chair of the newly renamed Department of Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Gonzaga University (formerly Women’s and Gender Studies), Dr. Diaz has successfully transformed the minor into a major after a twelve-year journey. This fall marks the realization of her goal, with the department warmly welcoming its first cohort of majors.

Under Dr. Diaz's leadership, the department has also undergone a significant name change, reflecting a broader and more inclusive focus that now incorporates sexuality studies. This transformative moment highlights a new era for Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Gonzaga University.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Diaz for these notable achievements!
