Amanda Swarr’s Book Nominated for Prestigious African Studies Association Award

We are thrilled to announce that Professor Amanda Swarr’s book, Envisioning African Intersex: Challenging Colonial and Racist Legacies in South African Medicine (Duke University Press, 2023), has been nominated as a finalist for the African Studies Association’s 2024 Best Book Prize. This esteemed award recognizes the best scholarly work on Africa published in English and is one of the most prestigious honors in the field. Stay tuned for the winner, who will be announced at the ASA's 67th Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, from December 12-14, 2024.
