GWSS PhD student Shelley Pryde will be presenting a lightning talk at Scholars' Studio, hosted by UW Libraries Research Commons and Graduate Student Affairs in The Graduate School. Shelley’s talk, titled “'We’re All Born Naked, and the Rest is Communism': The Art of Drag in Shanghai," explores the intersection of art and identity within Shanghai’s drag scene.
Scholars' Studio will take place on Wednesday, November 20, from 3–4 p.m. in Green A at the Research Commons, Allen Library South. This engaging interdisciplinary event showcases rapid-fire talks from UW Master’s and Doctoral students on diverse research topics. Attendees can join in person or register in advance for the Zoom livestream. Light refreshments will be provided after the event’s Q&A session.
