In the September 2026 Perspectives edition newsletter, Amanda Swarr, Chair and Professor with Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies, answered a few questions like how the department got involved, how the funds will be used for the department, the impact discretionary or unrestricted funds has on the department, and any unexpected ways the funds might be used.
When asked if there's anything else to share, Professor Swarr said, "This support gives GWSS a sense of optimism and hope. It’s a reminder that people can make a difference in the work that our department is doing. It feels like a space of opportunity that we don't get otherwise when the world can feel a little disempowering. We’re here, we’ve been doing this work for so long, and we’re not stopping."
