This year’s GWSS Undergraduate Research Colloquium showcased the exceptional work of GWSS students whose projects demonstrated a level of rigor and creativity rarely seen at the undergraduate level.
The eight GWSS majors and minors who presented their work were selected as recipients of the Department’s Undergraduate Research Awards for 2025-2026, and the projects were the culmination of work conducted with this support. Faculty research mentors, Professor Michelle Habell-Pallan and Professor Cricket Keating guided students’ projects. The work was partially funded by the Herring Phelps Undergraduate Fund, and the students expressed gratitude for the support that broadened their thinking and made these projects possible.
The research presented advanced themes central to our field. These included queer and trans world‑making, feminist political histories, racial and disability justice, and the everyday practices of resistance that shape more equitable futures. These students will continue to develop their research and expand their commitments, and the GWSS Department looks forward to their ongoing intellectual and community work!
