Are you ready to experience Iceland's revolutionary approach to democracy and feminism? Join us for GWSS Iceland: Feminism and Democracy in Iceland, a 10-day spring break study abroad program, based in Reykjavik, where you’ll explore the country’s political, cultural, and environmental landmarks.

Program Highlights:

  • Walk through Thingvellir, the birthplace of the world’s first parliament.
  • Engage with local artists, filmmakers, and musicians to understand the close connections between culture and politics in Iceland.
  • Participate in a hands-on workshop on Iceland’s crowd-sourced constitution.
  • Learn from feminist activists about Iceland's leadership in gender justice and political organizing.

  • Dates: March 20 - 30, 2025
  • Application Deadline: November 1, 2024
  • Application Availability: The application will be live by the end of the week, as the Global Studies Office is finalizing the last details.
  • Financial Aid: This program is financial aid eligible! Spring break programs qualify for financial aid, so students are required to take the course during the winter quarter to apply their aid to the spring break portion.
