The UW Simpson Center, which provides a variety of annual funding opportunities for graduate students and faculty, recently announced their Fall 2023 Funding Round Recipients. Included amongst these are Society of Scholars Fellowship winners Professor Chandan Reddy for his book Operationalizing Racial Capitalism: On Liberalism’s Command Powers, Ph.D. Candidate, Christina Yuen Zi Chung for her dissertation "At the Seams of the World: Gender and Decoloniality in Hong Kong Contemporary Art," and Feminist Studies Graduate Certificate student, Ananya Sikand for her dissertation "Muslim Unbelonging: Conceptual and Performance Art in Post-Independence South Asia (1970-2020)." Professor Bettina Judd was also awarded a 2023 Digital Humanities Summer Fellowship.
