On October 11, 2023, Scripps College hosted a transformative workshop led by University of Washington Professors Michelle Habell-Pallan and Sonnet Retman, alongside Ph.D. student Angelica Macklin. The workshop centered around the pioneering initiative, Womxn Who Rock: Making Scenes, Building Communities, which has been at the forefront of intentional community building since 2010. The project, serving as the heartbeat of collaborative efforts, seamlessly brings together UW faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, community members, and scholars. Through innovative use of participatory archives, music, and media practices, Womxn Who Rock has fostered inclusive and empowering spaces of belonging, reflecting a shared commitment to social change and creative expression.
